Why Millennials Should Become Entrepreneurs

Many millennials are transforming the world we live in. As this generation grows and makes an impact, the business world is also seeing significant changes brought about by millennials. They have disrupted industries such as chain restaurants, online retail, the fashion industry, and even the diamond and jewelry business.

What is a Millennial?

Oxford Living Dictionaries describes a millennial as “a person reaching young adulthood in the early 21st century.” The actual millennial age range varies depending on the source. Pew Research Center defines millennials as those born between 1981 and 1996, whereas the Census Bureau considers anyone born between 1982 and 2000 as a millennial.

Why Should Millennials Become Entrepreneurs?

Millennials are Tech-Savvy

Raised with technology from a young age, millennials have become pioneers for the future of tech. They use technology for more than just socializing, employing it to improve business efficiency, speed, and convenience.

Millennials are Open-Minded

With access to diverse viewpoints through the Internet, millennials embrace creativity and innovation. This open-mindedness is beneficial for business owners and entrepreneurs who encourage unique ideas and non-traditional business plans.

Millennials are Ready to Take Risks

Millennials are willing to take calculated risks to start their own businesses. Unlike past generations who relied on social security or pensions, millennials see betting on themselves as a viable option in today’s economic landscape.
